Our Story

When I moved from France to the beautiful countryside of Banks Peninsula, I faced a simple but frustrating reality: there were no options for healthy, sustainable food for my family. The bigger towns had limited choices, and rural areas had absolutely nothing.

As a mother wanting to nourish my family—Seb, Maelys, Lynx, and Swan—with quality food without wasteful packaging, I realized:

"When you don't find what you need, you create it!"

That's when Nomad Wholefoods was born.

Rural and smaller South Island communities were being left behind. Families who cared about health and sustainability had to drive hours or settle for substandard options. Meanwhile, quality organic and spray-free growers were struggling to reach customers who truly valued their work. Something had to change.

I believe organic and spray-free food should be the norm, not a luxury. I'm passionate about supporting growers who choose the right path and showing families there's another way to shop—one that nourishes both people and planet without all the plastic waste. At the heart of it all is genuine connection. We've built relationships with customers across the South Island, many of whom have become genuine friends.

We're building a business that is helping more South Island families and individuals eat healthier, shop easier, and live more sustainably. Nomad is the bridge that connects conscious growers with caring communities.

This shop is my heart and soul. What started in a cabin on wheels with just 15 products spread across folding tables has grown to 250+ carefully chosen products. But our mission remains the same.
