What does zero-waste mean?

Zero-waste means we sell our bulk products without single-use plastic packaging. Bring your own containers, jars, or bags — or use our home-compostable paper bags. We're committed to reducing waste at every step of the supply chain.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver across the South Island of New Zealand. Orders over $100 qualify for free delivery. Orders placed before 3pm are processed the same business day, with delivery typically taking 2-3 days.

Are your products organic?

Around 80% of our range is certified organic. For everything else, we prioritise spray-free, GE-free, and ethically produced products. We're transparent about what's certified and what's not — just check each product description.

How do I choose my quantity?

All our bulk products are available in 100g, 250g, 500g, and 1kg sizes. Simply select your preferred weight from the variant dropdown on the product page. Start small to try something new, or stock up with the 1kg option for better value.

Can I visit your physical store?

Yes! We're located at 64 Rue Lavaud, Akaroa. Our opening hours are Wednesday and Thursday 9:30am-3pm, Friday and Saturday 9:30am-5pm. Come say hi — we love meeting our customers in person!

What is your returns policy?

Due to the nature of food products, we can't accept returns on opened items. If you receive damaged or incorrect products, please contact us within 48 hours at marine@nomadwholefoods.co.nz and we'll make it right.

How should I store bulk products?

Store dry goods (grains, legumes, nuts, seeds) in airtight containers in a cool, dark place. Most will keep for 3-6 months. Nuts and seeds can be refrigerated or frozen for longer shelf life. Always check individual product pages for specific storage tips.

How will my order be delivered?

We pack your food fresh from our shop in Akaroa. Your items are placed into home-compostable bags and then secured in a cardboard box with paper tape. We use NZ Post for all deliveries to ensure your package arrives safely.

How much is shipping?

As a small business, we work hard to keep shipping accessible while covering rising costs.

We offer a $12 flat-rate shipping everywhere on the South Island.

FREE shipping on orders over $100.

Please note: We currently do not ship to the North Island or send chilled/fresh produce via courier.

Can I click and collect?

Yes! If you are local or visiting Akaroa, you can select "Local Pickup" at checkout. Your order will be ready for you at our shop (64 Rue Lavaud).

We also love helping if you're busy — feel free to drop off your containers with your name and number, and I'll fill them for you!

Can I change or cancel my order?

Because we handle food and aim to pack orders within 1 business day, we cannot usually cancel orders once they are processed. If you've made a mistake, please message me on 0210371285 immediately, and I will do my best to help if it hasn't been packed yet.

Can I place a large bulk order for a discount?

Absolutely! If you're looking to stock up in larger quantities than what is listed on the site (e.g., 5kg+ sacks), please email us at marine@nomadwholefoods.co.nz. We're happy to provide a custom quote for bulk orders and let you know the lead time.
