What is Nomad Wholefoods?

Nomad Wholefoods is a family-owned business specializing in high-quality organic wholefoods and eco-friendly home essentials. We're passionate about making healthy, sustainable lifestyle accessible to everyone. Our products are carefully sourced from trusted farmers and suppliers who share our commitment to quality and ethical practices.

Where is your shop located?

Our physical store is located in Akaroa, New Zealand. You can find us at 64 rue Lavaud. We’re open from Wednesday to Sunday.

What kind of products do you sell?

We offer a wide range of organic wholefoods, including nuts, seeds, grains, dried fruits, herbs, spices, and more. Our products are available in bulk, allowing you to buy as much or as little as you need, which helps reduce waste and saves you money.

Are all your products organic?

While we are committed to offering as much as possible certified organic products, we have sometimes made the choice to choose NZ grown that are not certified, over o-certified but imported from afar. However we always make sure those growers have a spray-free ethos. We have also a few imported products that are non-organic, but we always strive to change and improve! Overall over 90% of the store is organic and everything is sourced from reputable suppliers to give you full confidence in what you're purchasing. We want to be fully transparent on that, feel free to filter our products on this website to see which ones are organic or not!

What does "certified organic" mean?

Certified organic products are grown and processed according to specific standards set by a certifying body. This ensures that the food is produced in a way that is sustainable and good for both the environment and your health.

How can I place an online order?

You can easily place an order through our website. Simply add the items you want to your cart and follow the steps to check out.

How much is shipping?

We use NZ Post and currently only ship to the South Island of New Zealand, we are still a small business and shipping costs are high! We absorb some of that cost in order to offer a flat rate of $9 for all orders under 3 kg , then $12 for orders 3 to 5 kg. We are not currently able to send chilled products or fresh veggies.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

We aim to process and ship all orders within 1-2 business days. Shipping times then vary depending on your location, but most New Zealand orders arrive within 3-5 business days. You'll receive a tracking number via email once your order has been dispatched.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently, we only ship within New Zealand South Island. We are exploring North Island shipping options and will update our website if this changes. For our friends overseas, be assured most of our products can be found in your country as well, look closer to home in order to avoid CO2 emissions!

What is your approach to sustainability?

Sustainability is at the heart of Nomad Wholefoods. We encourage customers to bring their own containers to the shop to reduce waste. For online orders, we use minimal, recyclable, and compostable packaging. By selling in bulk, we help you reduce food waste at home.

Why do you focus on wholefoods?

We believe that eating wholefoods is one of the best ways to nourish your body and live a healthier life. Wholefoods are minimally processed and retain their natural nutrients, unlike many highly processed foods that have been stripped of their goodness.
